Once Blind
Kay Marshall Strom employs the legacy of John Newton to call attention to 21st century slavery throughout the world. John Newton was a broken and desperate man testified to millions of his transformation from the worst of the worst to a ringing voice of God. Newton is the author of the wonderful hymn, “Amazing Grace.” Strom believes that Newton’s fight against slavery two centuries ago is a very relevant call to action for believers today. Bringing awareness to modern-day slavery is Stom’s passion.

Stephen Miller is a seminary-educated journalist who has written form publishers such as Reader’s Digest, Guidepost Books, Christianity Today and Lion of Oxford. In his book Student’s Guide to the Bible he answers the tough questions that students are asking. Questions that ask how the Bible deals with couples living together, drinking, and marrying nonbelievers. He also talks about fifty heroes and jerks in the Bible. That’s right! Jerks in the Bible! He tells us how to make the Bible appealing to today’s students while still maintaining respect for it.

Kathy Peel says five minutes is worth its weight in gold and you can find these five minute tips in her book “The Busy Mom’s Guide to a Happy, Organized Home.” You’d be surprised how much you can accomplish in 5 minutes. Kathy says that Family Management is more than providing a clean house and an orderly environment. It’s about nurturing your family so they become the person God made them to be.
Forsaken
This is a great story about Simon Mason, the world’s most famous evangelist and his security agent Taylor Pasbury. Forsaken is a book that you won’t want to put down. Mason’s daughter, Kacey, is kidnapped and the terrorists demand that he denounce Christ. Can he publically deny Christ? Will the terrorists return his daughter alive? Forsaken is an intense and engrossing book that will make you ask the question - what would you do if you were in Simon Mason’s shoes? Do you choose your faith, your life’s work or your daughter? The choice seems difficult. What would you do? This is a thought provoking questions that could relate to our everyday lives. What would we do?
