Heat of Adoption
So many people pray for a child to come into their lives. A child they can nurture, love and guide. A child that will become an answer to countless prayers and although this woman didn’t give the gift of life she soon discovers that life gave her the gift of the life of an adopted child.

The child that didn’t grow under the woman’s heart, but in it takes on special meaning for people like James and Vickie Bryan. A defining moment came in their lives that will last forever when they stood outside an orphanage and listened to the cry of a baby.

It was at that orphanage that Vickie and her husband James were able to look into the eyes of some of the children. They did not see sparkling eyes filled with joy only what Vickie describes as lifelessness.

One in 40 couples are not able to conceive a child, and after a struggle for the Bryans that lasted a dozen years the time had come to make a decision. One they never regretted.

Vickie’s desire now is to help others as she writes in her book: “The Heart of Adoption” to give them guidance through the process.
